We know you

I thought you might enjoy this clip which highlights patient-centered design thinking. Keep an eye out for Dr. John Krueger, who joined us this last year to talk about innovation. Dr. Krueger will be here next week to visit the change agent fellows and innovation team. You are welcome to listen in. Cal students, not to worry, he'll be joining you as well!

  1. Anna,

Thank-you for posting the video about patient centered redesign of care. I sincerely believe that this is the future of medicine and am excited and humbled about how much we have to learn from patients and with patients. Together I am hopeful that we can create a health system truly deserving of the act of restoring health to healthcare. Im really looking forward to my trip to Contra Costa where the evidence is everywhere that it takes a "village" to create a healing environment. Congratulations to all the success there. I am very proud of all of your (community, staff and patients) accomplishments.

    Warm Regards,

    John

  2. Anna,
Chugachmiut will be attempting to sell the building we currently use as our regional clinic and design a Lean clinic in Seward, Alaska. A few of my staff have been using foam construction board to conceptualize. The results are amazing on paper and we can hardly wait to see what our tribal members and patients can add to our thinking. I just love a patient oriented focus. We should be able to reduce out patient journey by as much as 70%. Providers will have an easier time accessing exam rooms. Standardization will help us a lot. I love having an opportunity to implement Lean design.
    All my best.
