Are you prepared?

My hat is off to the CDC. Below is a great example of a very clever use of social media. Way to get your point across and have a little fun! Click the picture below to find out what the CDC is saying about zombie preparedness.

  2. Dear Anonymous,

I’m delighted you took the time to read the post and to go to the CDC link. Wasn’t the information presented in such a fantastic way? I agree this IS a GREAT example of "out of the box thinking." I find it refreshing to know my tax dollars are being used to get needed information to as many people as possible. I was reading in the NY Times that an average CDC post gets about 1000 hits. This post went up Monday and got 10,000 hits, then 30,000 on Tuesday, and then it was so popular it crashed the server. After finding more space they continue to get hits.

If only we could get this sort of interest in medication reconciliation! A friendly reminder to keep a list of your medications with you…

Thanks for your interest and for taking the time to share your thoughts.

  4. It takes clever ideas to engage the masses now a days. Important information is considered boring to the Holywood/Xbox/Wii/gagdety generation (and many more overwhelmed with the therabytes of information flooding our daily activities)When was the last time you read all your e-mails thoroughly? or even the newspaper? This one is a great attempt. Caught my attention and kept it with the little injects of humor even when I knew most of the information because I try to convince lots of people to do just that: Be ready for any emergency!

  6. Anonymous,

You may be correct and are welcome to clarify.
Alternatively, one might see this as a bit ironic.
